JEFF LAMPPERT

I live in Tahoe City, California and have lived in the North Lake Tahoe area for over 20 years. I grew up in California's southern Bay Area and attended California State University, Chico. While my degrees in Geology and Geography did not lead me to photography, college did instill the enjoyment of learning. I continually update my knowledge of photography through seminars and classes.

My love of photography began as a youth when I took my first camera on camping and backpacking trips around California. I enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature and the people on the trips. I could not wait to get the prints back from the lab and see the results. I made a black and white darkroom in high school where I could develop and print my photos.

I took photography courses in school and gave slide shows for friends in college. My first published photos were of skiing, and I gained exposure shooting for Powder, Ski, Skiing, Outside, The North Face, Salomon, K2 skis, and L.L. Bean. I began photographing friend's weddings in 1986, and my wedding business grew from there.

Weddings and portraiture make up the majority of my business. Sports, scenics and architectural photography make up the remainder. I enjoy a variety of photography disciplines. This keeps photography interesting for me and allows me to use a creative eye to capture different subjects and styles of photography.
